Just ordered 100 of these for my .458 WM. Will report back when I get a few down range. Fun stuff.

Bonanza-

Have you run many different cast loads in your 458?
I've gone the other direction with mine lately, running 350tsx bullets seated long with Lott-capacity powder loads at significantly high velocities for extended range.
I really like my .458 bolt rifle. It's so versatile!

Can't wait to see how you do with these big cast bullets.

Cheers

My dear load is 350 grain Woodleigh round nose, however more like 2150 fps to replicate the 450 BPE. I also want to develop some whisper loads with TrailBoss. I've had some success with the 480 grain WFN.

I see it only recommends those bullets for the .458 lott in single shots. Why would that be? Looks like they offer a good crimping opportunity. Are they just too long to feed properly in a bolt gun? In this neck of the woods, I definately will be looking to chunking a good cast bullet of this weight at 1300-1500fps in my .458 lott for practice and for white tail deer. Looking forward to hearing your experience with these bullets.

Crimped in the foreward crimp groove, they should fit any .458 cal. gun, Mike as they were designed to fit in a Marlin which allows only around .44" out of the case.

I've shot 550gr. in my .458 2" and the .458 Alaskan using an old Lyman mould, with a huge flat nose.

Elmer K. once told me to use that one in my .458 2" for Cape Buffalo for a trip I was planning, back in the late 70's. He said that bullet, hardened and at the 1,950fps was all I'd need.
