On the other thread thatthe link takes you to, does anyone know why the elephant called "Mafunyane" has a clearly defined dent / hole in the top of his forehead ?
Is it because he was shot at some point ?

It's OK, I did a search and found he had a hole in his skull
that went to the nasal cavity and he breathed through it.
No mention of being shot or anything.

A lot are dead. Certainly the ones with ivory weights, but also many of the others too.
I like looking through the photo thread, and imagining elephants like that in the wild. What a wonderful sight. With a bit of imagination one can hear the trumpeting, feel the earth shake, and smell the dust as well.
