Hi 4seventy,
Very Bloody nice, you would only need a gun bearer to make the picture complete and of course, plenty of $$$.
Cheers,

Yes, wow!
5.5 kg! A 500NE is not so heavy!
I miss a bayonet mounted under the lowermost barrel. Just in the case the four shots fail to stop the bear.

I noted the slugs it was regulated for, were only 385gr. - well under an ounce - very light, probably pure lead and poor penetrators. Sectional density horrid, to say the least.
If the bear was a coastal brown, you might want to stop him with the first pair 9.3's - which, of course, should be plenty. Can anyone who'd actually buy and take that gun hunting, hit accurately - perhaps it should have a couple more tubes, added on?
I am not putting the 'work' down, it's spectacular, but 4 barrels seems a bit excessive - kinda like the 4 barrel, side by side & over/under bolt action .416 Rigby - or was it a .416 Rem?

Daryl_s, I agree that this is a well made rifle/st-gun combo, but like you, I find it excessive. However I do like the three barreled rifles, with double triggers and no selector switch. All three barrels the same cartridge for Bear or the cats.
I can't remember who made it, but there was one posted a couple years ago with all three barrels chambered for 450NE 3 1/4 inch. It had two triggers with the front trigger fireing both top barrels as a mechanical single trigger, and the back trigger firing only the bottom barrel. This is the only multiple barreled rifle that I would accept with a single non-selective trigger. I prefere this to a selector switch for the bottom barrel. However, My preference would be to have the front trigger fire the right barrel, and the back trigger fire the left barrel on the first pull, and the bottom barrel on the second pull. I think I'd rather have the chamberings be all 450/400NE 3" in this case though. IMO this would be a fine Lion rifle for follow-up.
I don't think the one posted here would be something I'd be interested in, but the all rifle drilling would be!
On the Brenneke slugs, I don't know about the 12 or 20 ga slugs, but I have a cape gun with a 16 ga on the left barrel, and 8X57JR on the right barrel. I've not shot a brown bear with it but have shot several 150 to 300 pound wild boar, and several Muledeer, and one Moose with both barrels on occasion. The 16 Ga Brenneke slugs were a death ray on the big hogs, but were shot at very close range, under 20 yds on the hogs and under 40 yds on the deer, and as a follow-up shot on a moose when the 196 gr 8mm bullet failed to put him down. The slug folded him up very quickly. This little cape gun will place the Brenneke right beside the rifle at 100 yds.

I was comparing the standard 515gr. and 575gr. Brenneke's to this underweight 385gr.'er is all.
A 385gr. from a 20 bore would be appropriate & probably work well. It is not an approprite weight for a 12. It would be akin to shooting 125's from your 8mm, or 250gr. from your .450/400.

Still only a 9.3mm or .375 H&H though.
Weight is 3.8 kg in the 9.3.
Very nice though and a three barrel rifle at that weight isn't too bad I think.
I am guessing the rifle is designed for driven game hunting, red deer, boar etc and the engraving bears this out.

When you are a oil rich arab, I guess you just make it up as you go. Who knows, the next thing they will be doing is engraving J.R. Ewing on a double rifle.
