Update...

I found a nice Leupold M8 4x scope and installed it. After what happened with the Pecar I haven't got the courage to break out the torque wrench, but I've tightened the nuts by hand to "snug".

The Recknagel mounts put the scope at the perfect height, and they are very easy to remove and re-attach to the rifle.

Incidentally, that Krinkov turned out to be surprisingly accurate, though perhaps only because of my low expectations. I had no trouble hitting a paper target at 100 yards shooting it offhand (standing, no sling) using just the iron sights.

You'd be surprised what some of the "old fogey" double rifle and side by side shotgun shooters on NE also have in their safes.

BTW I was shown the bullet scars, five or so, across the upper abdomen on an 'employee' from a Krinkov only in the last month or so. The guy got the scars when fighting for the Northern Alliance in Afghanistan in the 1990's.

I can just imagine trying to have that little toy in Australia. Those kinds of guns never really interested me much.
That is until my kind and benevolent government told me that I was not trustworthy enough to own one anyway.
Now I WANT ONE OF THESE !!

Yeah me too. Bastards. I want what they tell me I can't have.

Wanted an MP5 since some dude was caught with a couple within only ten kms of home in the past too.

Jeff

Now I don't want to get raided by the local police. Not me, not my safe. Not even in Aussieland, the land of the repressed and auto and semi-auto depressed.

Alas, not yet. I haven't even had time to sight it in. I was hoping to take it on a hunting trip to Montana, but that never materialized. Maybe next year?

Sorry, didn't mean to ruffle any feathers with the photo of my semi-auto Krink. I guess I shouldn't show off its full-auto twin or you guys will really turn green!...

Hey LFOD,

Please post more about your new rifle when you have played with it some.
