martini firing pin...
      #173782 - 25/12/10 04:38 AM

The question is which martini?

I have a .22 with a broken firing pin (across the slot in the back of the pin) and am looking for a replacement.

The rifle is a BSA with the takedown screw for both the trigger/block and the barrel.

Hopefully the picture is an easier way to identify it. (cocking indicator removed)

Dimensions of the pin are:
1.88oal,
body diameter.265,
body up to firing pin "stop" 1.6"

I know that asking for martini parts is like asking for a box of bullets

Any help id-ing the model would be appreciated. If I could chase down the part, that would be good as well.

Cheers.

Mery Christmas

Tom

Start here:

http://www.martinihenry.com/links.htm

• T.W. Chambers and Co. http://www.chambersgunmakers.co.uk/ Spare parts for BSA Martini 12/15 and international
• John Knibbs International http://www.airgunspares.com/ Search BSA by model
• Jim Hallam http://www.classicguncompany.co.uk/
• Gun Parts Co. or Numrich http://www.gunpartscorp.com/
You need a firing pin/striker for a small BSA martini or a Cadet Martini. Send these folks an email and see what the have. Contact them in the order listed. Gunparts would be last choice.

Can't tell what model it is but it looks to be in the Model 12, 13, 15 or 1215 family.

Thanks DD.
With all of the Martinis around, you would think that someone in the US would fill the void. The british distributors require an export license for parts, so that nixes an order from the UK.

If I have to make one I will, but I would rather pick up oem for a part like this one.

Thanks

Sorry, but they have never required an export for any of the part they have sent me, and recently.

Did you send them an email and ask.

Jin Hallam sent me some parts a couple of months ago and I just sent him a check for some others day before yesterday.

I fact I would get a hold of Hallam right away. He has a shipment of guns coming over from UK in the next couple of weeks and he will be here in the U.S. also.

I bought an ejector spring a few years ago from T.W. Chambers and no export permit was required.

Eureka!

Turns out that the firing pin from GPS was the trick.

The gun is a BSA, but the action is similar to the cadet (Same?) The firing pin is center fire with some adjustment made to the "cocking arms" in order to catch the rim. Originally ordered a rimfire pin which was not the correct replacement.
Part was drop in and the rifle went bang from the start.

Thanks for all who chimed in as it was appreciated.
