"Legends of the Fall" has one maybe two double rifles.

One is carried by the Brad Pitt character ivory hunting, and from the cartridges is supposed to be a bore cartridge I think. From the bandolier he wears in the hunting camp.

The other is a gift to his father Ludlow, but it may be a shotgun.

Haven't gone back to see if it has already been mentioned. Added it here for my own future benefit .

Ha! Just watched Trader Horn on cable last night. Rod Taylor and Anne Whatsername, corny as hell but interesting for the early-seventies background Africana.

The movie opens with a badly-faked double-rifle 'stop' on an elephant, but unfortunately one doesn't get to see much of the hardware!

How about "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen", a fantasy type movie with Sean Connery
as Alan Quartermain with double rifle.

Ian.

Sorry, I didn't go back far enough to see it was already mentioned.

Ian.

I used to own a very nice George Gibbs 577 3" BPE Full Sidelock double that Charleton Heston used in the Movie "Alaska" , I should have kept it but I cannot go back in time and worry to much, He was a poacher in the Movie.

Robert Redford in Out of Africa, holding spares in his trigger hand.

I wonder if he ever shot that gun like that, and where the spares went if he did...
