Hi Guys

Got a flyer from Holt's auction house this morning. For your interest

For Daryl - a round ball gun par excellance



30 yards regulation - for a boar!



Not sure whether this should be here or in the shotgun section, but I am sure it will be appreciated

If I get to the auction I will take some pics for you, or they will post a catalogue on line

Wow - 50 to 60 thousand dollars. Ouch! Nice, though. That triple barrel 16 would be fun too - same price estimated.

The online catalogue is on Holt's website, no pics for the Boss ball/shot gun but these with JabaliHunter's Paradox make me wish I was rich!

A FINE, VIRTUALLY UNUSED 20-BORE SINGLE-TRIGGER SIDELOCK EJECTOR WITH EXTRA BARRELS FOR SOLID BALL, serial no. 10124,
26in. nitro chopperlump barrels with raised matt ribs, tubes engraved 'BOSS & CO. 13, DOVER STREET. LONDON. ENGLAND.', 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and 1/4 choke, extra ball barrels (serial no. 10124 / 10125) with matt folding leaf sight for 30 yards and gold bead foresight, 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. choke both, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, removable striker discs, gold-inlaid cocking-indicators, non-selective single trigger, rolled-edge triggerguard, best fine bouquet and scroll engraving, retaining virtually full original colour-hardening and finish, 13 3/4in. highly-figured stock, weight 5lb. 12oz. and 5lb. 13oz. (extra barrels), in its lightweight leather case with some accessories and canvas and leather outer cover.

Provenance: The makers have kindly confirmed that this unusual combination was ordered on 1st December 1992. The records state that the gun was to be supplied with "an extra set of 26in. barrels, slight choke, for shooting boar. Front and back sights, sighted for 30 yards". The gun was completed in January 1995.

Other Notes: Please note although the second set of barrels were supplied to be suitable for solid ball, they are not rifled and still classify as Section 2
