A friend wants to buy a .30-06 new rifle off the shelf in Spain (he tends towards a semi auto, I am trying to convince him of his heathenness and put him onto a bolt) Any recommendations, USD1500 or Euros 1300ish or less in either action. he needs to be able to buy in from a European supplier, thx, Mike

Why not a Sako?

Hello Mike,
there exists an austrian company which manufactures rifles in standard calibers like .30-06.
These are called "Rössler Titan 6" and are available for about 1200 Euros.
An advantage is that these rifles can be equipped with interchangeable barrels (same system size).
More information (german and english language):

Ruger Hawkeye would be my pick. Im a ruger nut though. I have a Stevens 200 that shoots very well too. It was under 300 bucks. Benneli makes a nice autoloader if he wants that.
