We tried to get AZoom (Lyman)to build a batch of them and unless we ordered a huge amount they weren't interested. They weren't even aware that Ruger was chambering the round. Funny how they list 600 and 700 nitros as well as secveral others that are pretty rare but not the 450 thick and thin rims. (BTW Judge, you'll need the thin rimmed for the 450 NE)
I have a set of the Knyoch caps That Chapuisarms has provided a link for. Top notch quality!

Kynoch's appear to be nickel, too. Those available last year were anyway.

Sorry Fellas, I said chrome when I should have said "Nickel" plated Brass with Delron Primers... They are Kynoch brand and sold by Trader Keith.

Cheers,

Kinda pricey at $50-60 a set.
Whats wrong with closing off the flash hole and then filling up the primer pocket with something like Brownells Acraglass? If the firing pins push the fiberglass down you can always add another drop or two. What do you think?

Is it common that commercial snap caps have only Delrin in primer pocket, solidly in place, with no heavy spring in back of it? If so, won't the delrin dent from firing pin blow, and eventually increase dent size until the delrin is no longer doing its intended job, due to large indentation, or am I wrong on this? Since I have a small precision lathe, I have always made my own snap caps, by drilling out the primer pocket, and making a two diameter delrin insert, with major diameter a slip fit in the cartridge, and the minor diamter a slip fit in primer pocket hole, so this delrin will move when struck by the firing pin. Now, behind this delrin, I insert a heavy coil spring and epoxy in another delrin piece to hold spring in place, under pressure. This allows delrin to move, but at the same time to cushion the firing pin blow, and all works well. I have never bought a commercial snap cap, so know nothing about them. Is one available, similar to what I make?
