GW

Can you explain the photos? In particular the three barrels shown? It looks like a pair of guns are being ordered? What are the three barrels for? Or is it merely for display etc?

Also what is the target for the guns? Shotgun only deer seasons in the USA? A tiger like the engraving would be nice however.

Just interested. Thanks.

PS They look like lovely guns.

The photos are of a vintage pair I used to own made for Patiala, to give example for others to see should they have interest in a factory order. The last photo I posted is a 20 bore droplock Fauneta I just purchased. The guns are side by side ball & shot guns, paradox if you will with rifled choked smooth bores. Exceptional weapons for hunting all kinds of game, and can be used as well to shoot 2 1/2" shotgun shells to boot. Very versatile and handy. I have talked the maker in to start making them once again, very exciting! Will take down big game with ease.

Yes, I have actually handled that pair a couple times. Extra 20 ga. smooth bore barrels were made for each of these Faunetas. If I remember correctly, the extra barrels made by Westley Richards and proofed in '85.

You are correct, the extra barrels though were added in the 70's. Only issue they had was the dolls heads were not fitted well with the Fauneta barrels for some odd reason.

The SCI convention in Reno this January will be a good starting point to chat with the maker and make an order, if you have an interest in resurrecting this wonderful weapon from the ashes.

New Faunetas should be fitted and regulated with a good, light, low powered QD or Claw mounted scope.

I prefer iron sights for this gun. Though I suppose if you had to have a scope they would accommodate you.

Disagree. A scope would be nice if all you wanted was a rifle but then why buy a Faunetta.

I use mine, at times, for N. Idaho Deer. I am blessed with the ability to walk out of my door and go hunting and the Faunetta is a favorite, along with a 16/8x57/8x57 Drilling.

I normally carry a #7 shot and a Rifle round as Turkeys, Grouse, Quail, Deer and predators are all available in any order. It is a pleasure to carry and confuses the neighbours.
