Wipe out?
      #1682 - 17/02/03 12:17 AM

Has anyone here tried wipe out?

I have heard it is a good product for blackpowder and also for big bores.

A sort of a foam that negates the need to use a bronze brush.

I don't think anyone nearby stocks it and would like to hear any results or experience of it before having some sent over to me.

Thanks.

A shipment of Wipe Out bore-cleaner arrived in Australia in February. Initial distribution includes the following outlets:
QLD: Rebel Gun Works - Wolloongabba

NSW: Mick Smith's Gunshop - Sydney
Western Firearms - Beverly Hills

Vic: Bornia Firearms - Bornia
WhiteHorse Arms - Mont Albert
Clayton Firearms - Clayton

WA: Freemantle Firearms

No Territory outlet listed yet, but more retailers are expected in the near future. Can't wait to get my hands on some of this stuff!

I've read a lot about this stuff on another forum, and most of the members rave about it, but it can be somewhat tricky to use. Once you've got the hang of it though, they say it's slicker than snot.

I'm currently using my first can and love the stuff. Shoot it in the end of the barrel until it foams out the breech end, let it set overnight for REAL dirty bores or a couple hours for a fairly clean bore. Push a dry patch thru and you're done. I bought this after shooting some Barnes X bullets to remove the copper fouling and am very happy with the results.
