Winchester pump/auto action strength
      #167301 - 06/09/10 07:15 AM

Just a question of the engineer types out there regarding action strength. Not the gun itself, but the locking mechanism.
All of the winchester pumps and autos have a bolt head with locking lugs and a barrel extension much like a variety of centerfire rifles.

I believe that there are 4 lugs, each about 1/4" thick and about as wide

What pressure levels would this type of mechanism withstand. I am not interested in using the entire shotgun in a project, just the bolt head and barrel. Yes I have the parts available.
I probably think that I have more time than I actually do

Cheers.

Tom
