Hello Folks,

Recently I acquired a Parker-Hale Volunteer 451 caliber rifle. I'd like to learn more about the history of the originals. All I can find is advertising copy. Can anybody point me to knowledgable sources, or books?

Thanks.

Gun Digest 1971,1972,1973 editions have very well written and researched pieces on the Whitworth, .451 British small bore muzzleloaders, and Volunteer rifles respectively. i refer to them often. website LRML.org is a good site for finding research references.
