I'm interested in feedback on drilling and tapping one of my Mausers for a scope. The rifle is a custom build done by Jim Cloward in the late 80's using commercial action. It's in 300H&H and the rear bridge has been shaved and the bolt shroud has been replaced with one that has a Model 70 style safety. The guy it was built for didn't want it scoped so it is undrilled, I'm thinking about changing this. Is this a good or bad idea? Also, I need to have the serial number put in a discreet place above the stock line, the stock is a pain to remove to view the original number.
I would no reason not to,the piece is NOT collectible as originals and to use the the long range capabilities I would have to scope it.It's custom built, just use a matching scope for it's style. any pictures?

Oh, I know it's not collectible. I'll see if I can take some pictures of it to post. The other odd thing about it is that it has no sling swivels, this was done in accordance with the customers specifications.
