Mauser rifle

Gentlemen,
I am looking at a commercial Mauser in 30/06 that if memory serves was made in Belgium. I believe it was made in the 1960's. Is this a desireable rifle? The guy wants $700.00 for the rifle and an old 2-7 Redfield scope. Thanks for any comments.

You can check the sales on Auction Arms and Gunbroker for comparable prices, The same rifle, built by FN for Sears, and marked J.C. Higgens, sells for far less.

The FN commercial Mausers were good, but $700 is on the high end for price.
Not WAAAY out of line, but not a super deal either.

"Mauser" covers a lot of ground, if it is an Browning FN Supreme I would say yes $700 is a good buy but with lack of a more detailed description / pic. it is really hard to say. --- John303.

Sorry, I cannot post a picture as it is not in my possesion. It is not a Browning. I remember it was marked as being made in Herstal. I will try to get more info. Thanks for the replies.
