I shot and owned Brno Express, Cogswell and Harrison,W&C Scott, Heym, RB Rodda, W Richards,Antonio and Angelo Zoli, and a BSS Browning convert. When the new gun laws came to Canada I sold my doubles for fear of them being worthless and taken by the goverment as I had a rather large investment. During those years you would seldom see a double for sale here. Now at the gun shows I see doubles turning up for sale and they seem to be selling.Prices are high. I now have the BSS and the Antonio Zoli. The English guns I expect went to the States. I called Cabelas about a rifle and they told me there was no way to get it to me. I had purchased a rifle from Champlin years before before.

There is nothing like shooting a double although they can be a pain to load for.

Some of the people a getting back into doubles since the gunlaw scare as once a double shooter always a double shooter.

It seems to have cooled somewhat. However, I'm still at it!

Buying more vintage British double rifles has cooled a bit for me personally, for the simple reason I can't afford the covid tax demanded nowadays...

...but like Curl and others here I am definitely committed to wearing out those that are currently in my custody!

Or trying to...!

Will soon have a Holland Purdey and Boss 600 in camp. That about finishes me.

A post from almost twenty years ago. Hundreds of doubles rifles, both old and new have been sold through interest from the NitroExpress.com forums.

I think it is not a fad. But their use a well tested formula.

I bought my first around twenty years ago, my Jeffery .450.

My second the Tikka/Valmet 9.3 about back then.

Since a second set of barrels. Four others since then.

A modest collection. I'd like to use them more however in recent years.
