Period Scopes and Bolt handles
      #162159 - 16/06/10 10:07 AM

Hello Guys

I am very interested in seeing some pictures of how various (especially British) makers treated the scoping of a rifle where the scope was the primary aiming device, and if they made any changes to bolt handles - in the period between the wars. I know scopes were not as reliable in those days so the fundamental approach was different but . . .

My take on it so far is that Germans tended to use high detachable mounts (usually claw type) and not alter bolt handles, Americans tended to use either detachable side mounts or fixed top mounts and altered a few handles to suit.

What did the rest of the world do or think about ??

Cheers - Foster
