New .500 3'' Jeffery
      #158682 - 11/04/10 03:06 AM

Hi All,

It won't be long till I take delivery of my new .500 double by Jeffery, London. It's been LONG wait.

I need to make a decision on engraving. Does anyone have any photos of various scroll patterns for me to mull over?
Its a boxlock ejector

I'm also going to commission an oak and leather case with ivory tools etc. I'll be stone cold broke very soon!

Some pics of best quality box lock doubles would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,

John

I will post some pics of it soon.

Congratulations John

Here are couple of pictures from Marcus Hunt's website and Incidentally this too is a 500 Jeffery,I think this a very elegant pattern.

BTW If my memory serves me correctly sometime back you were going to have your.416 Ronald Wharton engraved from Ken Hunt?

Thanks, I have had my .416 partially engraved by hunt, but its been non stop hunting, so I haven't had a chance to leave it back for any amount of time - In fact, I'm so pleased with my .416 that I use it on almost anything - such as driven boar in Turkey, last week!

One top engraver in Europe, Roland Baptiste, is a member here. You might want to ask him or check out his website: web page

Cheers!

Not sure what blend of .416 you are using--but couldnt agree more--have used .375, 458, 470 and 416...so far, if restricted to one caliber--I would choose the .416 hands down...incredible caliber on anything for anything...IMHO...

Agree that the 416 Rigby is hard to beat, but I do love my 500 Jeff bolt gun just as much.

.416 Rigby is amazing. I can't wait to take it to Mozambique later this year with my .500 Jeffery.
