I have a set which sat on a Winchester model 70 featherweight for a while, but not used since I sold that rifle.
They used to be more common seen on quality rifles.
What do you think of them, any good?
I am thinking of putting a set on my .30-06. And an older model 4x Schmidt & Bender scope.

Hi John, I have a set on an HS Precision 30-06 rifle. They look very good, and have given perfect service. The fellow who makes them is very nice and easy to deal with. I recommend them.

I think they are well made and good quality. I also think they look nice and sleek, and believe they work well up to a point. I had a 602 Brno .375H&H Mag with Conetrol mounts and a 1.5 to 5 Leupold, and I could never stop scope slippage. Took them off that rifle and put them on an early BSA .308, and they worked fine.

G'Day Fella's,
John, I have used them in the past on some of my highly polished rifles but these days, I'm more into Form Follows Function!
Because of this, the only Conetrol rings and mounts that I possess are on my HB Tikka .222 or have been transferred from another, now sold Tikka M55, on to my Brno Model 1.
They are a great looking set-up and I have had absolutley No Problems with them allowing any scope to slip but these days, I don't want to find a scope mount/ring problem, out in the boonies! Sorry John but I can't remember what hard recoiling rifles, I've had the Conetrol's on in the past?

Well made, sleek looking, unique.
A PIA to set. Once they are there, forget about changing your scope in a hurry.
And you do need to grit/glue them to the scope on high recoil rifles.
I'd say ideal on a medium caliber rifle where you need a good look, and on which the scope stays put. Not for working rifles in the field.

I have them on all my rifles, execpt a Ruger with Ruger mounts. They are described as high end mounts, see http://www.charm.net/~kmarsh/mounts.html. They are very light and very strong. I have them on a pair of Winchester pre 64 M70 fwts in .270 Win and .308 Win. I also have them on my classic custom .308NM.
They also have the advantage of windage adjustment fore and aft.
They come in three grades of finish:
> Huntur > Gunnur > Custum
which are interchangable.
They are made by George Miller of Texas, USA who gives excellent service. I had my last ones here within a week from the US.
Highly recommended, but expect to pay a premium price for a premium mount.
