Looking for feedback on a 404 Jeffery build

I've scanned most of the threads on building 404s but still have some questions. Here is what I am planning:

Action: Pre-war Winchester Model 70 (currently 30-06)
Barrel: Krieger, 24" with 1:16" twist, #5 contour
Bottom Metal: Sunny Hill, drop .375H&H
Remaining Metal: 1/4 rib, swivel band, undecided on standing/folding rear sight configuration and front sight
Stock: Duplicate early 20th century Westley Richards style

My main questions are:

Is the traditional 1:16" twist fast enough or should I consider going tighter?
Is the #5 contour too light (I'm aiming for a 9 pound weight)?

My 404 is 19.5 mm at the muzzel. Not sure of the twist but I didn't order anything special though.

I think you made a good choice on the barrel. I built my
404J with a Krieger 1:16" standard twist and it shoots the
Woodleigh/Hawk/Barnes bullets just fine.
I used a #19 contour and my rifle ended up at 10lb 4oz.
The #5 would have been a better choice. No point in
dragging extra iron around. Stock up on Varget and you
will be good to go.

What weight did your rifle end up at?

Thanks for the input. The #19 does look on the heavy side, the #6 would be the heaviest that I would want to go. For twist rate, Krieger said the 1:16" is fine for traditional 400gr (i.e. jacketed lead) bullets but a faster twist would be better for the 400gr mono-metals (I'll stick with the 1:16").

I tried some of the longer monos in mine. They shot OK.
Faster twist is great in theory for the longer bullets,
but for this caliber, it's just not all that important.
For something like a 450 grain, it might be different.
