Tinker,
The caliber of the big rifle was never referred to in the movie but it did show the ammo for it and it being loaded. The bullet casting scene was not for the 8 bore, but other guns. There was also lots of other very cool stuff in the Talbot mansion.

You're most welcome. I seldom go out to movies myself, but I've wanted to see that one on the big screen since I first heard about it and saw a trailer for it months ago. Well worth the time and money to me. I will definately add that one to my dvd collection.
