New H&H Falling Block - First Look
      #151399 - 22/01/10 06:39 AM

This is my first look at the new gun. It is built in traditional style, including the old style spear points, front sight, and engraving. When I finally get it home I'll post range results.

Greetings and congratulations on a very tasteful rifle.
I see the interesting escutcheon. Does your profile picture show your unit or regiment?
I've never heard of Grenadiers in the U.S. Army but then I haven't heard about a lot of things.

I also noticed the monogram plate.

Can you tell us about the emblem and it's significance to you please?

Really nice rifle - hat's off to your sense of style and distinction.

Cheers

It looks like a (UK) Grenadier Guards Regimental symbol which goes with the Nic. He posts his location as USA so I'm assuming he's an ex-guardsman who has moved across the pond ?

He's got a case of the vapors while fondling his new rifle and can't answer.

I took the opportunity to get a good quality H&H sling and some Kynoch snap caps while at the show. Those will come in handy. The rifle was crated up and shipped from SCI to my local gun shop so I'll finally get an opportunity to shoot it next week. Regarding the engraving, it is simply a coat of arms and nothing more.

Beautiful rifle. The action looks like a Hagn?

Yes, they used a Hagn action with some minor changes. In my opinion it is the most refined and best engineered single shot action available. The firing pin design, extraction system, and breach design improve upon shortcomings of some of the other falling blocks.
