The white Boar
      #150825 - 16/01/10 11:51 AM

Just a couple of photo's of a white Boar I shot this morning.
I shot him with my 9.3x62 with a 286 grain Woodleigh PP. I am just loving these Woodleigh's. This one I recovered entered the flank on the near side and was found behind the off side ear. Weight retained was 260 grains (91%) with excellent expansion.
The last 3 PP's I have recovered have weighed 260,256 & 264 grains.

I recovered my last bullet (a 286grn RN) in the same place from the same angel on a Bush pig.
The Woodleigh RN bullets work great on light game, that's for sure.

Nice one!
What sort of distance for the shot?

It was late in the morning when I walked the sand hill so this fellow was camped up for the day when I flushed him. He was under 20 yards when I took the shot.

Fatboy, nice rifle and nice pig! Sometimes I wished I lived in your country! Reminds me of my pig hunting days in the SE USA in the Florida and Georgia swamps!

Please show us a photo of the knife, with a ruler or scale next to it, it looks like a knife style I would like to make. Did you make it or buy from a maker?

Hi Altamaha.
The knife is a Kizlyar Sterkh-2 with a 5.5" blade and timber handle.
I paid about $135 Australian for it. Great knife, a little hard to sharpen but holds its edge for ages.I use it for ripping the briskets of my game as well and it doesnt chip even though it is hard.
The best knife I have ever owned !!.

Many thanks for the photos!

Think I will try and duplicate this one, I like the style and pure functionality. I have just the material for the blade, L6 saw steel from a big bandmill blade.
