there is an M 98 in 11,2x72 Schueler from Peterlongo/Innsbruck on gunsamerica
with a Stutzen fullstock. it is more than unusual on such an dangerous game rifle and worth to note it.
I am allways wonder how much rifle's for this rare german big game round today in the united states are around.
Peterlongo is beside of Schueler himself and Meffert/Suhl one of the gunmaker's who have build several rifle's for the 11,2x72. Steigleder and Burgsmueller have listed this caliber but I have not seeing a rifle till now.

my first thought was also that this is a muzzle loader missing the ramrod. lots of power from the 11,2x72 for the poor wild boar's.

Of course much Kentucky long rifle styling (especially in the 18th century) is a direct descendant of traditional German gunmaking of the period, and that German styling continued in pretty pure form right into the 20th century, as you can see above. Huge subject I could talk about all day.

What gets me is that little rifle is chambered for that cannon cartridge and has a plain metal buttplate. Talk about style over comfort! That's a beautiful rifle - I wish I could snatch it up. I always admire Peterlongo work.

What a special, and interesting rifle.
Peterlongo is well apprecieted in Germany and Central european countries, he was the armoury of the Emperor... a great gun maker.

Congratulations.
Really a good big game cartridege.
