cleaning bigs

I have little experiance cleaning
large bore rifles;but lots with
small ones. I am having trouble
geting clean bores on my 375h&h
and 458wm. Both have been shot
little. Will it get better the
more they are shot? I have tried
differnt products with the same
results.

Just how badly fouled are your bores? In normal cleaning, I've found that there are always traces of copper fouling after a thorough cleaning. If the little bit of fouling that is remaining in the barrel doesn't affect accuracy, I wouldn't worry about it. Another thing, how many rounds have been down the bores? Most bores need a few hundred rounds to smooth out the burrs and small machining high-spots.

If you want to get your bores absolutely clean and with little effort use either Wipe Out or Coppermelt. My friends and I are completely sold on these products. Using Wipe Out, it takes me litteraly 5 minutes per gun to clean. It is a foam(looks like shaving lather) you spray it down the barrel, lay the gun on it's side, come back in 1 to 24 hours and run two or three patches through...DONE! No chemical smell, no dozens of patches, no BRUSHES, no hundreds of strokes with the brushes down the barrel. About every other cleaning I run a couple of patches of Hoppes down after the Wipe Out, the Wipe Out doesn't do as good a job on the powder, but this is NBD.

Where do you find these products.
I just checked at Midway and they
do not carry them.

The Wipe-Out is listed as "Sharp Shoot R Wipe-Out Brushless Bore Cleaner" product #784-639 on page 279 of the Midway Master Catalog #2

The Coppermelt has to be ordered directly from the manufacturer.

Hope this helps. Let us know how these products work for you.
