If it doesn't put 5 well inside an inch I would be VERY surprised. Sako really puts a fine polish in their bores. Brushing the bore with a metallic brush is a no-no. Nylon brushes and fancy solvents will get around this.

Kind regards,

albertan

I have two Sako 85s, although not the varmint model (Kodiak and a lam stainless) - They are a great rifle and I would be very surprised if you bought a varmint and weren't happy with it

I have one in .204 Ruger, it is in a walnut stock, not laminated however.

it's a great rifle well balanced and shoots the Hornady 40 grain factories into .5 MOA at 100. They come standard with a single set trigger in all calibres which is a great feature. The only downside to the 85 model is that they appear to have a shortened magazine, which if reloading your own, especially with ballistic tips nozler or V-max then you can't quite get enough length to set the projectile properly on the rifling, As a fox shooter this is only a minute problem, 0.5 MOA will do me, however this may be a problem for competition shooters.

Cheers
