Allen Hall Model F action
      #146725 - 26/11/09 11:26 AM

I have three Allen Hall Model F side lever actions, I have had one built for Kansas Deer Hunting in 308 Palma, the Second Action is being built into a 375 H&H by Craig Click with will have all the fitting built in one off stainless steel Damascus including the quarter rib, butt plate ,cartridge trap and front sight base. My question is has anyone used this action for such a large caliber.

Wow - I looked at Hall's website a few times but never found the falling block. Just googled and came up with a hidden page - http://www.hallmfg.com/html/falling_block.html
Would love to see photos!

My son is home this weekend and I will try and attach a photo for the complete rifle, the Hall action is no longer listed by Allen and like you I can't find the old listing.

Thanks - would love to see it. The listing at the link I posted above is the only one I've ever seen. You're lucky to find 3 of them!

The last time I talked to Hagan in Canada they had one of these actions on hand, I was going to try and buy it but I found the others closer, one from All Hall him-self serial number 8, one on line from guns america serial number 22, and one from a benchrest shooter here where I live and I cant remember the number on it.

After buying a Heym Double rifle in 375 H&H I didn't want two guns of the same caliber so after making inquires for ideas on caliber it came down to 9.3x74r and a 338/74r Keith everyone has a 9.3 so I ordered custom dies and I have been offered a reamer to use I am going the 338/74Keith path on one of the reloading sites I have found loads that equal 338 win mag loads and the ability to easily found bullets. And it has a very cool factor it was built for Elmer Keith in early 1970 and is shown in the Guns and Ammo 1972 annual listing 300 gr loads at over 2500 fps. and almost four inches long.

If you would consider selling one of those Hall actions action I would like to hear your price as I am in the market for one. Or perhaps you know someone else who has one they might part with. Thanks for any help you can provide. John
