Testing is about the only way to find out. With the addition of 'hard' lead shot, which contains trace amounts of arsnic, you can heat-treat the bullets, perhaps up to brinel 22 (new lino) or even 30. I don't know how the pewter will react, but the shot will be necessary before heat treating can be performed successfully.
I've about 200 pounds of Wheel Weights left from a rmpant collection at tire stores back in the 70's. No zinc, and no pure lead stick-ons in the batch. It will heat-treat up to brinel 33/34 - 50% harder but more ductile than Linotype.

Update on Horneber Brass

As I mentioned above I ordered 100 cases for my 375 x 2-1/2" from Herr Horneber in October 2008 for delivery "in the Spring". Well, they arrived this week, about 18 months overdue. On the plus side they seem to be of excellent qulaity (I wasn't too impressed with the Kynamco brass). They are also substanially cheaper depending on the exchange rate. Even at today's rate they are cheaper than Bertram brass form Midway UK. Would I buy from him again? Yes, but on the proviso that he has the cases in stock, if he promised to draw them "in the Spring" I don't think I would.

Update on CBE Mould.

I ordered the .375 mould along with one for a pal who has a 450/400. It arrived from Austalia in 5 weeks and the quality was just a joy to behold. I wanted to put it on the mantelpiece and just sit back and admire it but a certain lady wasn't too keen on the idea. I've had a test run of casting with it and, being brass, it casts beautifully. I need to do a bit more work on getting my alloy right and then I'll write up the results.
