Does anyone know how to go about finding a Lyman 35 peep sight? I need one for an Oberndorf mauser Type B rifle. Have looked for months and months and the best I have done is to locate one that had already been sold. The rifle is a nearly mint Type B in 7x57 which has a very small cut under the bolt release to accommodate the sight. The cut looks like the one on the rifle pictured here: http://www.champlinarms.com/Default.aspx...&GunID=1645
I would also consider a Parker Hale or other sight designed along the lines of the Lyman 35.
many thanks

I may have what you are looking for. The Champlin link does not produce an ad for me to confirm. Would you by chance have an image or another link? Thank You.

There is a Lyman 35 depicted on Don S's most recent acquisition. http://forums.nitroexpress.com/showflat....true#Post144799
If this is what you have and you are interested in selling it, please quote me a price.

Here is an image of my Type B in 7x57 showing where wood appears to have been removed under the bolt stop. I think a Lyman 35 (or similar sight) was once there. The rifle was bought new at VL&D in New York in 1909 according to records provided by Griffin & Howe.

Did you ever find a Lyman 35? If not, I have one that you may be interested in.

It's all there, completely functional and best yet, has not been "screwdrivered".
If you can tell me how to attach photos, I'll send you some of the sight.

If for some reason you two can't reach an agreement, I would be interested.
