Deeley & Edge falling block info.

Does anyone here have experience with Deeley & Edge falling block rifles?
Specifically the Westley Richards types in rook or larger chamberings?
Are there features/faults which one should look for on these rifles?

I have a D&E Westley made on the 1883 pat.(thumb lever mititary style)made in the 450 #1 Carbine chambering. I think it's a great action that is destined to be a 375 flanged in it's next lifetime.

It's alot more sweet and petite yet robust that a Remmy Hepburn.

D&E patent is the duck's guts. Very elegant.

I have 2; one is a Westley Richards target rifle aprox 1889 in 450 no2. It has a serious barrel of 36" but despite this the rifle is well balanced. Shoot very good (better than me) and despite no engraving a high quality piece. The second in a barrelled action in 450 2 3/4" octaganel DAMASCUS barrel, highly engraved. The barrel is badly pitted and is my intention to sleeve the barrel to either 375Flanged or 7x57R, depending on balance. This is my project for early next year.
By all accounts the actions are strong pretty and quite desirable. According to Frank de Haas, it is suitable for just about any modern calibre.

Charls
