Farquharsons, tell me about them
      #142317 - 19/09/09 05:44 AM

A non hammer, non-engraved, non original barrel Farqauharson, in good average condition, approx. what might it be worth? Understand that Farquharsons were made in three action sizes, small, medium, and large. If that is true, approx. what are the dimensions of these three action sizes?

Probably best if you also try to get hold of Wal Winfer's books about British Single Shot Rifles.

i know he covered Henry, WR, Jeffrey and I think 3 others.

Lots of info in these.

All Farquharsons are hammerless.
Pricing without pics and other information such as maker/retailer is difficult.
For instance, I know of a rebarreled engraved Jeffery in what I think is really good shape for $6500.
I thought the price sounded close to reasonable but some others I've spoken to think it is way too high.
Also, a plain grade farq. retailed by Jeffery, Rigby, or H&H I would think would bring more than the same rifle from, say, Manton or Watson Bros. for instance. IMHO

additionally a Fark is not always a Fark. There were many variations and often times guns that are not truely Farks are reffered to as such. Can you post a picture?
