Hi From Australia,

I saw that your looking for a specific Trade Label, I have used this company before, they are in England but will post what you want. There details are as follows:

www.peterdyson.co.uk then go to the Trade Label section, they have most Trade labels from the firearm companies if the past. Yours is listed as costing 15 Pound. I hope this helps.

Cheers,

Jeff Gray

Sir Aubrey received two .450s and two .350s from Rigby shortly after the Boer Wars. The .350s had tang safeties. The .450s had more engraving and side safeties. I have read that he was an avid sport hunter, especially upon his retirement.

At one point in his life he was a political prisoner and when he was finally released he received a cash settlement. In some references it is claimed that Woolls-Sampson was a single shot fan. He helped form the Imperial Light Horse regiment and some report that he used his settlement money to outfit the regiment with Martini single shot rifles even though the rest of the forces carried Enfields.

Wal Winfer's book has pictures of the two .350s that belonged to Woolls-Sampson and states, "From the author's collection." So we now know of the existence of the two .350s (one apparently for sale in Oz) and one of the .450s. I wonder where the second .450 is.

Grenadier, can you tell us what the weight of the gun is?

When I put it on a bathroom scale the needle rests just past 10 pounds.

The bore is dark but the rifling is very prominent and does its job well. I shoot Hornady 480gr DGX from it and it groups nicely.

I was glad to see the information about Sir Aubrey's guns. I also have one, a double rifle in 400/350 that he purchased before the Boer War. It was the first 400/350 built according to Roberts records in London. Thanks
