Some good guns, some better finished than others.

I have a silver finish sidelock in 375H&H.

Using gun.

I don't think they will ever bring top $
but as an entry to Medium level DR, they are fine.

Seem to shoot well !!!

I'm considering a 12 ga priced at $150. It appears to be an antique but is in decent condition and deemed mechanically fine by the seller.

i have a sidelock ejector from the seventies, good quality build and nice looking in a plain sort of way, i think i have shot in the neighborhood of 40,000 shell's through it without any hickups.

best

Aspen

Well, I'd buy it !

Spain make good guns so I doubt you can go wrong for $150.

Ehhhhhhhh, I am also looking at a Dumolin SXS for a shade more cash. It is prettier, definitly a girl's gun. NICE engraving on it. Stock needs repair.

Are they both Boxlocks ?

Buy the gun that fit's you better, that you like better
or that suits the job better but it must at least fit you half reasonably !!!

Same with any gun, no point in owning it if you
can't shoot it well !!!

If you like the dumolin better get that one, and as it needs a new stock have one built for you that fits.

Yes, and they are not local for me to try them, they are in a far away state. I am leaning towards the Dumolin. I've never owned this type of firearm before.

There were two Sarasqueta makers, not related, Victor Sarasqueta and Felix Sarasqueta. Victor Sarasqueta was at one time, one of the best Spanish makers, quality wise, and earlier guns/rifles (yes, one of very few Spanish makers to make double rifles too) from this maker were of better quality than later ones. I have had several of their guns, and found them to be quite good guns, for the money. Some of their double rifles tended to be a bit crude, and I have seen a few with ribs slightly off center, etc. Champlins firearms recommended against their double rifles, to several friends, because the rifles tended to not hold up well over time, due to some soft steel internally. Felix Sarasqueta is not in the same class as Victor S., and Felix S quality is less, from my experience. Modern Spanish guns/rifles tend to be of better quality than earlier ones, in general, as I believe that all Spanish makers have decided to make better quality guns/rifles than they once did. I assume that the Dumolin (not sure that is spelled correctly) is a Belgian gun, and if so, if it looks good, I would buy it, for some very nice guns came from the Belgians.
