My addiction got the best of me again, I purchased an large ring 98 in 8x57 made by Imman Merffert of Suhl in I would say good + condition. The best part is does not have scope mounting holes and the metal and finish looks original, the stock (looks like circassian? with some dark streaking) has been refinished but not altered. Steel buttplate, one folding leaf rear sight, bent bolt handle but not for a scope, lightly scroll engraved on action & bottom metal, the bad things are it's missing the back trigger on the DST assembly and the floor plate release, anyone know what type of release it would be - possibly a lever?
Just looking for any comments as to collectability / desirability / ball park value etc. The one thing that would be nice to know is which Mauser factory the action originated in, any way of telling? Any rear DST triggers out there?
Thank you in advance for any input. --- John303.

Immanuel Meefert was a very well regarded gunmaker / dealer and if you were to post the markings and pictures here, the MAuser experts (and we do have some of the best) would be able to help you with an estimate of value.
In any case, since you have a beautiful rifle, why aren't you showing her off? Congratulations and thanks in advance for pictures!
