The fellow who does my barrel work here, threading and crowning basically, has one in 16 bore x .30/06. He really likes the '06 for moose, but complains he can't hit with the shotgun when the scope is attached - set at 9X - oh well.

Hi: I have a 300 series Brno with 7x57R over 12ga and 5.56x50R Mag over 12ga. Both barrel sets accurate but like Daryl says i have to take the scope off to hit with the shotgun. Dan

Gunbug, do you have any chronographed load data for the ZH304 7x57R?

I've the same gun and keep getting conflicting advice on how fast I can (or should) push 175g bullets through them.

Haven't tried scoped shotgunning yet, however I dont seem to be having troubles hitting things with my skeet barrel set for it as the bloody thing double discharges when you pull the rear trigger!

Any normal load in the 2,350fps to 2,500fps should be just fine and results on big game will probably be indistinguishable betwen the two. Higher speeds aren't necessary for good game killing capability - the round gained it's rep with 2,300fps loads - let the bullet do the work. At the 7x57's 'comfortable' speeds, premium bullets aren't needed and such bullets become quite 'hard'.

I have a CZ combination in 7x57R and 12ga. It is a modern one but don't think it is the model illustrated as the frame is more Vee'd at the point the stock joins and the scope mount rear sight is different. I just use regular book loads for reloading both it and my 7x57 bolt gun. My CZ shoots the factory Sellier & Belloit to right around an inch with the scope and I haven't really experimented with it very much and it just more or less sits in the gun cabinet. Nicely built and fitted gun that I had intended to take to Africa for Guineas and Impala but never worked out.

Does anyone know of a red-dot sight that is set up for the 304? I have one that I am using with the iron sights; seems to me that a 1x optical sight of some sort would be ideal.

For a limited time Aimpoint made a chunky convertion base for the ZH 300 which was essentially a bolt on Weaver/Pic. rail optimised for fitting an Aimpoint with an integral Weaver/Pic mount. Aimpoint USA still has some I believe. I dont think adapters are available for the Doctor or any of the reflex sights.

i have a zoli with a 20 gauge over a 222 remington,i bought it at auction and they had a gunsmith add a weaver base to the rib thats ok because it came with an extra set of 20 gauge OU barrel set i to have yet to shoot it

I obtained one from D&R Sports Center and found that it will not fit a ZH304; the sight rib interferes with the underside of the base. It may very well fit some of the other ZH300 series models, but not the 304 - at least not without extensive modification.

I also obtained a base for the new Brno Effect single shot, thinking that it might work. It doesn't fit as is, but might be usable if modified.
