Sehr interessant! Nice work but I'm still not sure I like the slab-sided bolt shroud better than the old FN Browning streamlined style. Does the M70 type of safety have any advantages over the sliding one? Also, what does the button on the flat do?

The button on the flat locks the safety in the "safe" position, so that the rifle can be carried slung without the risk of the safety lever being moved accidentally to the "fire" position by rubbing against brush, etc.
Some high grade doubles have a similar safety lock.
Obviously, the safety lock on either type of weapon would be disengaged when immediate use was anticipated.

great looking rifles,but does anyone make a mauser sporter with the half octagon half round barrel and full length raised and matted rib? Love that look and havent seen any NEW offerings like it! Kevin.

I'd love to get the pattern for that stock and have a few made for my Mausers. The whole rifle is a work of art.
