Mauser 2000 Aluminum Baseplate, housing and trigger guard
      #132442 - 16/04/09 06:57 AM

I just picked up this nice condition Mauser 2000 in 8x68S with 26 inch bbl. I know they were built by Heym back in the early 1970's. The action is wonderful as is the barrel. Accurate as all get out.

The stock is plain (glossy blonde colour with no checkering) but solid. Double set triggers that break clean and crisp. The bbl and action is very nicely bedded.

The issue is the aluminum floorplate, trigger guard and lower housing. Is there an aftermarket replacement for these? I just figure that sooner or later it will break - probably where the guard meets the floorplate housing.

The magazine metal does not fit into the base metal - it hangs from the top of the action. So the base plate is relatively flat like a Remington. The action screw hole spacing is different from a Mauser 98; military or FN.

I plan on bedding the lower metal to give it better support for now.

Any suggestions or comments are appreciated.
