With some cold almost frosty nights last week, hell I even started a fire on two evenings, the fallow stags have that look in the eye and mean business. Lady business.

Don't knock our cold Barossa nights. It got down to 6 deg C one night and the other night 10 deg C and I was up all night. Last night I was up pressing wine most of the night - but shorts and T-shirt. It was cold but kept busy and warm. Brrrrrrrrrrrr!
May get a chance to have a look around Sunday night and Monday if I take the day off as planned. Hope to take the .450 out for some paper punching as well as it has been getting lonely over vintage. Vintage and deer hunting do not mix well, by May ....

Speaking of cold, the dry is on us, the night temps are dropping (gets down to a chilly 9 deg some nights Ann )
Gary and I are heading out next weekend for an over nighter, bit of pigging, bit of barra fishing, should be good.

Very interesting mate,to hear that from S.A., the fallow season (stags) finished in Tassie end of March this year and the doe/hind season starts in May through to June, missed out on the stag season this year due to work but will be going down too Tassie for May. Got a Tassie mate who's son is a butcher and makes the best venison kabana this side of the black stump, last year up on the Sambar we had many a night around the camp fire with a beer or port (sorry we had Brown Bros) and a stick of venison kabana in hand, doing the same this year but this time I'm taking them to my bit of bush I reckon that will sort them out, told them it's going to be hard yakka so I hear they are in training hahaha, little do they know that the Sambar are close by, and it's their shout.....take it easy...Les
