Some ele photos - to start
      #131905 - 09/04/09 03:34 PM

I had a little disaster a few months ago and had a PC crash and potentially lost a lot of photos, including my Africa photos from 2006 and Banteng from 2007. The backups had stopped a long time prior, but paid to have the files extracted from the failed HDD and seems to have got most of them, plus a lot of more important files.

Now can share again.

A couple of elephant from 2006:

Taken in Northern Omay, one metres from the shores of Lake Kariba, and the second in the bush in the flat country below the escarpment.

The first cow, a cull for free. See the trunk is cut half off by a snare. The brain shot wound is also obvious.

Second cow, also a tuskless. The brains are leaking out of one of the ears. But the brain stain in front of the ear is a discharge from its musk glands. The "Zambezi Ladies" are a nervous and temperamental lot. This gland leaks a lot if the animals are stressed.

I'm glad you have been able to retrieve your pictures John. I don't recall having seen these two before, and it is fun to see Paul's face again, since as you know my wife and I hunted with him during our honeymoon in '98.

The two white guys are Sean Buffee whom I hired as a cameraman and Paul Frodsham who was the PH. The black guys I forgotten their names.

I wrote "Mark" but meant "Paul". Bit of a brainfart there while typing!

Now that you mention it, he did enjoy an above average amount of dirty humor. So we got along well.
