470 nitro express 55.0 grains XMP5744 powder F215 primer Barnes 300 grain flat point brass pistol bullet
Regulates perfectly at 100 yards with a chapuis .470. Recoil is non-existent. POI is 2" high at that distance with that rifle.
Perhaps worth a try in your double...

I forgot to say: no filler needed. Ignites just fine even in cold weather.

Looks like this 5744 is the ideal powder for lighter practice loads. I've experimented with 4759 and even some 2400 in the past but this powder seems to take the top prize.

500, Try 45 grs. of XMP5744 with a 500 gr. lead bullet also..gets about 1800. and will come to POI at 50 with my gun.

Ray, in my 500 NE I use a 500 grain lead flat nose bullet with 45 grains XMP5744. Hits dead on at 50.
Maybe loading data for the 500 NE and 470 NE are interchangeable...

I would not be surprised in the low pressure lead loads as they are basically the same case.
