she will end up a we bit more proper in the end......caliber decision to be made after I get my grubby little mitts on it. Would have started out as a .303 and I have a soft spot for that cartridge using 215 gr bullets.....we will see.

Good find, I wouldn't mind running across a Woodward. The action looks to be in nice shape. Keep us updated as you go in the restoration.

We wondered who that was on the phone this afternoon.
Throwing the barrel away before it is shipped will halve the weight in carriage it is a monster
Good to see it going to a better home.

Worst thing about this gun is that I didn't buy it! I don't need another project - but what a project to have! Still, I will get to check it out when Bouldersmith gets it in his hands... Some guys have a knack for recognizing the possibilities (not to mention the ability to see them through) - there will come a time when we will all regret not grabbing it!

It is a remarkable collaborative effort of two great masters, Henry and Bubba Holland. What a find! A guilt free restoration piece of a fairly rare and very desirable British action. I think you done good, boy...

Why do I suspect that beneath that sadness are tears of joy? Congratulations and do remember to post the restoration pics here to get over your sorrow.
Good hunting!

But can he pass off the buttstock as a genuine H&H canoe paddle and "make a buck".

I was ogling that one too, but as I have already more than enough projects, I decided not to get involved. Nice action though, you should be able to make something nice out of that one. Bouldersmith, should you have no use for that tang sight, I might be interested in taking it off your hands - just let me know. I can always use a decent tang sight...
