#2 back from the stocker a week ago. I still need to put a finish on the wood but I just couldn't wait to shoot it. Took it out back for a couple of shots into a dry hardwood log. After splitting it with the ax the bullet traveled 6 7/8". The load was 130 grains of Goex cartridge black sub, a .515" 360 grain bullet.
Marvellous rifle, casper50. I have one of those Improved Martinis in close to museum condition, a sleeper. Unfortunately it is chambered for the anaemic .500/.450 No.1 Carbine, but is too good to mess with. Such a waste of a big strong action- I would have loved it to be chambered for the .500 No.2 on up!
