Talley X Ruger mounts and rings
      #127646 - 21/02/09 09:14 AM

Dear friends:
I have a .375 H&H Ruger rifle and, in spite of everything I have listened, my scope always get a foot or more out of the original zero everytime I take it out and put it back in that gun. This is a serious handcap since it do not let me use different scopes by just changing one for another. I friend suggest me to fix Talley mounts on the Ruger receiver and quit with the Ruger original mounts. What do you think about that? Best regards
Jano

I think any new rings, even Ruger's, would be an improvement. Warne may a quick detachable as well.

is this a 77 MKII or the original 77?
if its a MKII, i find that odd, their rings are well built and solid. in my opinion their factory supplied rings, practically speaking, are as good as any. i mean, they're so simple as to be pretty much fail proof.
what else is there to the story? possible scope problem?

Jano,

My experience with the Ruger 375 H&H and Ruger rings is entirely different. I routinely take the scope off of my #1-H and return it with no loss of zero. I suggest the problem may not be with the rings, per se.

call ruger, tell them your rings are defective, and why, and swap for a new set
