In most ethical hunting circles, the shooter with the red band around his hat would be fined and sent home on the spot. Shooting the biggest pig out of a band is a capital error ! It will always be a nursing sow (large boars are always solitary) and most likely the leading one. Not only will there be a orphaned litter condemned to die and a disorganized band left to ravage crops. Great hunting feat indeed, killing a mother and 8 pigglets with the same bullet... Ethically, only small or yearling boars are taken out of a band. The (accidental) on the run shooting of a big sow is only accepted if she ran alone and was mistaken for a boar (this may happen when companies have been disbanded by the hounds).

In my corner of the woods, such a disrespectful "hunter" would be fined 40 € per kg exceeding 60 kg (dressed weight) for his 1st "mistake". And, for a subsequent offense, he would be fined the same and asked to leave...

Well, OK André, all very interesting, but obviously different customs and rules apply in different countries.
How much variation is there from region to region in European hunting customs?
In Australia, for instance, the big boars are much sought-after as trophies but most pigs are shot to waste in large numbers. On one trip last year, our party of six killed ~560 pigs, and to not shoot a pig of either gender for any reason would have got you sent home!

Anyway, I couldn't see any sow-dependent piglets in any of the footage I saw, and most animals taken looked like boars. Definitely all boars in the second vid. I believe the hunters were being highly selective, according to their own reasons, as evidenced by the red hat-band hunter only rising to take the fourth pig running across their front in one of the scenes in the first clip.

If you are referring to this pig André:

I believe this is it on the deck, clearly a boar.

Maybe big boars can run with a mob in Hungary, as they sometimes do here in Australia.

Anyway, all good stuff, a few air-shots in the first vid but generally very good shooting on what were mainly fairly long-distance running shots.

I certainly enjoyed watching them both.
