shot this cow today with my dads 404 on a swamp just out of town stalked a mob of cows and calfs got to within 30-40 meters of the mob as they fed straight towards us shot this cow as she had a nice set of horns one shot into her hart was all it took she still ran almost 150 meters we followed a massive blood trail and found her dead with the whole mob around her seen a small white calf in the mob too...

Nice shooting! It's a good thing you didn't get charged by one of the mob protecting the one you shot.

Calves are often, of a lighter colour and as they get older they get darker...

Yes, that calf would have been very nice eating.

I recently shot one about the same size (and same colour)and cooked a big stew the same evening i shot it (cooked for 2 hrs).

the meat was great, melted in the mouth.

Great shooting, great rifle, good on ya...
