Greener Howdah Pistol

because its common practise to post howdah's in the double rifle section here is another one from a german collector. do not come across a side lever howdah before. anyone have see such a pistol before?
what is the opion about the time it was make, 1870-1890?
chambered for the .577 service cartridge?

Interesting howdah pistol.

I did see a Wilkinson howdah pistol with a side lever go through Christies in 2003. Rather poor photo of it:

The proofs on your pistol are pre-1887.

Champlin Firearms has a really nice pair of Howdah pistols for sale and they are priced individually. I really like the looks of the side lever on this one.
