Ann

Congratulations of your big win! I think that is really great news after all the hard work and effort.

Now in addition to the video we will want to see lots of pics of the huge old dagga bull that we hope you take with the 45/70.

And you can use your sharp twigs >>>>>---------> for everything else!

Great stuff.

Now the heat will really be on you ... to pick your observor. Good luck

I would much prefer crawling on my hands and knees to get within BOW range of a buff. Yes sir eeee, bowhunting is way more fun. As it is, I still plan to get very close to the buff for a shot with the venerable 45-70. It's that first shot that counts ya know?

This is a dream come true. I never would have guessed this could happen to me.

Thanks for the support guys! Stay tuned for good stories and lots of fun.

Any advice from experienced buff bwanas (like you, John) is appreciated!

Ann,
pussy foot up close enough to poke him in the ribs and when he turns around, belt him!

Seriously, I hope you get as much of a kick out of hunting your first buff as I did mine.

pity about the cadet rifle you have to use

Ann:

Conrats on the win! I wish that I were in your place. You have nerves of steel if you would hunt those bad boys with a bow! I am sure the 45-70 will do the trick. What rifle are you going to use? What bullets....Garrets? Will the rifle be stock or will you have it worked on? Scoped or open sights? These were all questions I was pondering while I was still in the running for the raffle. I was out the second day

When you get back you will have to give us a detaled run down on the hunt. I am sure that it will be a great time.

Thanks for the well wishes, guys. I really think I have a guardian angel out there as I had no plans to return to Africa this year, I am too broke.

I have not made any decisions on what bullet to use, they will be handloads. Still would prefer to arrow him, who ever the lucky buff will be.

Ann

My advice - practice duck walking or crawling preferably on thorns

When I hunted with Pierre he was a quick duck walker and moved nice and quietly to get closer to the buff. Now I can't duck walk to save me so perservered with crawling but much more difficult if carrying a rifle.

Also take a couple of balck umbrellas if Rob doesn't have them handy.

Otherwise just have fun. Its just a tonne of steaks and hamburger anyway.

Yep, I've done some of that duck walking in the past. My back doesn't like it! I have some pretty good knee pads that I will be taking as I find it easy to manuever that way. Trust me I am more worried about the thorns than an ornery old buffalo.

Tell me what the umbrellas are for. I've seen you mention them before but am not sure what the intent was. It is supposed to serve as a decoy?
