Krieghoff Doubles
      #121865 - 22/12/08 10:42 AM

Hi: I posted this on Accurate forums as well. I don't see any posts about the Krieghoff double rifles with the combi cocking devise. Any reasons why?

Some hate it, some don't. I personally feel that it's an easy trasition and the rifles are durable, accurate and well made. If you find one that fits you in a caliber you want, there's no reason I can see not to buy it. They ARE very safe to carry and not any slower to get into action provided YOU are familiar with the weapon. I personally know of 2 well known PH's that carry K-guns as their weapon of choice and they love them.

I think the cocking safety would be wondrous on a break action single shot. Not sold on the Double Rifle though as I think you need to be able to use it unconsciously and if you have other Doubles you shoot you could get confused at exactly the wrong moment.

I lost a very nice Deer once because I was not familiar with the safety on a Mauser, having only shot Winchesters at that point. I couldn't find the safety with my thumb without looking and I spaced on the actual location for just enough time for the Buck to make a jump and he was gone.

At least it wasn't a charging Ele.
