well that was fun. this gun is not regulated for a 1 1/8 oz slug at 1275 fps(factory brenneke)

it was a nice crisp and clear day with temp around -2 celcius

setting up the target at 50 meters(the target is a 2 liter sodapop bottle)

setting up for the first shot

boom

full recoil

WTF

second shot set up

boom

full recoil

looking in disbeleif

the gun crosses about 12 " and shooting low, so we need round ball and balck powder now, or a heavy slug with some speed, maybe both.....

i did shoot the rest of the packet with same results.

i will see what i can scrounge up from different sources here in denmark not the most common thing here

best

peter

Cool!- your pictures look as if they were taken around here. I live on sort of a plateau area, with rolling hills in the countryside - but not far away we run into the mountains.

sadly no mountains in denmark, but a few rolling hills though. i have to go to my neighbors for mountains, sweden or norway.

In your hands, the gun looks larger than it's light weight would indicate.

just a small tease

the six rounds are paper hulls that used to be 1 ounce lead no 4 shot smokeless.
now they are 3 drams(82,5 grains) of goex ffg and a .735" round ball, i cant get real black yet, so for now i have to use this stuff.
tommorow we should get sunshine and everything so i will get this load burning and see what happens.
you should get a smal filck on youtube by tomorrow night so we will see what comes of it.

if you dont see anything then it is because i need a few more fingers

all fingers still there, sadly niicky had to take care of our kids so i was on my own with the camera.(everybody should know better than to let me use electronic stuff)

so of all the small video flicks i thought i took, this were what came of it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9yPv7vH568k

all 6 shots went off fine and it got closer to regulation, it crosses about 6 " at 50 now, so more powder or slug ? i will try both as soon as i get the chance.

the recoil were more noticeble, but not too bad yet, but the idea of 6 drams gives me reason for pause

Peter - I've heard that Hodgdon is selling a new phony BP. I can't use any of it in my flinters, of course, but I'd never use pyrodex again - the fouling is corrosive after it soaks up some moisture and is difficult to get out of a bore. I don't know what you're using, but all my real black powder is GOEX 3F, GOEX 2F and GOEX 1F. Are you sure the GOEX 2F you are using isn't real BP - I mean- that's what the real stuff says on the red can & it's black, a bit dusty with small irregular granulations of fairly consistant size.
Hodgdon's new phoney is White something, then there's T7 and Pyrodex, Black Mag 3 and Clear Shot. I am not aware of any that are called GOEX 2F.
A 3 dram load should produce around 1,150fps to 1,200fps. A ww .735" ball should weigh just over 1 1/4oz.

The best available black powder overhere is swiss. Most blackpowder-shooters overhere has disregarded everything else.

Looks good Peter!!.
