Opening day of IA gun season today, went out to my father in law's farm. Got a small deer(roughly 120 pound button buck) with my Taurus 608 .357 magnum. About 45 yards, lung shot with Hornady Leverevolution. The stuff groups great in my revolvers. Now to make up my mind whether or not to go get an extra antlerless tag and hunt the rest of the season.

The weather made up my mind for me-ice storm today, too much snow tomorrow and Wednesday(last day) to be safe to drive out. Might go next weekend if I can get a second season antlerless tag though. Now that I have one for the freezer I'd like to shoot one to donate to the food banks.

I have shot a few doe while hunting with a handgun as a companion to the rifle. Few years ago decided handgun only , was lucky enough to get a nice 8 pt whitetail at about 70 yds. Congradulation on your buck
